Retiring Teacher with 35 years of experience working with young adults Dianne McDonald *** Salt Lake City, UT 84107 Phone: 801-263-7898 e-mail: diannemcdonaldslc@gmail.com Dear Board Members, My name is Dianne McDonald and I am seeking employment as a sorority or fraternity house director. I am in my 60’s , I have raised my family, lost a husband, and taught English skills for 35 years at a most remarkable public school in Salt Lake City, Utah. I truly enjoy working with young adults. Their enthusiasm for life is contagious and their brilliance gives me hope for the future of our country. Since I enjoy working with young adults, I would like to continue to work with them, but in a different setting and in a much different capacity. The understanding I have of the responsibilities of a sorority house director sounds like what I am looking for. As a school teacher, I know the importance of being responsible and organized. I am honest in my dealings with students, parents, fellow faculty members and other staff. I understand the importance of confidentiality and respect. I am pretty easy going, but I expect others to be honest and respectful in return. During my many years in the public school system, I have learned to work with innumerable personalities and have found that there is much to be learned and appreciated about each unique individual. I am a little nervous, but quite excited about stepping out of my comfort zone and into a new career choice, but the time has come. I believe education is the absolute key to our children’s future, and having had significant experience in the educational world, I can assure you that my skill and experience will be an asset as I enter this new realm. I will give it all I have -- to do a job that you will be pleased with. I have spent most of my life in Utah where the weather changes every few minutes for 9 months of the year and I am especially hoping for a position somewhere in the WARM western states. I have grown to resent the snow on the ground as the children look for Easter eggs! Warm weather would be heaven to me! Thank you for your careful consideration of my application and interest in the position of house director with your corporation. Sincerely, Dianne McDonald
