Job description: The House Director generally shall supervise the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the house and is to ensure that the house is orderly and clean at all times. The House Director shall perform their duties diligently, and within guidelines and directives established from the Corporation Board. The House Director may consult at any time with members of the Corporation Board for guidance and assistance in executing their duties.
The specific duties of the Employee shall include the following areas:
1. Alpha Mu Member Development
2. House Maintenance
3. Chapter Functions
4. Administrative and Budgeting
5. Community Relations
Alpha Mu Member Development
1. Reside in the Chapter House and have an established presence during members' time in the house. Eat meals with members, provide established hours of availability, and arrange activities for all members.
2. Be a "mom" or "dad" away from home for the men of Alpha Mu. This includes becoming familiar with each of the members of the Fraternity, maintaining a file of emergency contact information for each member, and greeting members and their families at the beginning and end of each semester.
3. Be a firm guide of authority, but not an enforcer of power.
4. The House Director will communicate to the Corporation Board and Chapter President in advance of any absences or nights away from the House.
5. Refrain from possession or consumption of alcohol while on Chapter property.
6. Provide mature counsel and assistance to Chapter members. Seek to meet regularly with each man of the Chapter to discuss academic, personal, and fraternal goals.
7. Set living standards for the common living areas.
8. Encouraged to educate members on etiquette, manners, and proper dining practices. The House Director is to require appropriate conduct from all Chapter members and their guests while respecting members' autonomy, lifestyle, and decisions.
9. Become thoroughly familiar with the following documents and standards of practice:

Iowa State Office of Greek Affairs and Interfraternity Council (IFC)documents
6. Abide by Fraternity policies as they apply.
7. Help further traditional Chapter values, including: academic performance,brotherhood, community service, responsible social development, leadership development, and philanthropy.
8. Arrange guest speakers, as needed, to provide meaningful academic, social,and personal education for members. Suggestions include, but are not limited to: Academic Success Center, Margaret Sloss Women's Center, Thielen Student Health Center, Multicultural Student Activities, and ISU Police Department.
9. The House Director will be subject to three performance reviews each year. These reviews will be given at the end of each semester (Spring, Summer, and Fall).
House Maintenance
1. Contact workers to repair and maintain the house and property, including:snow removal; fire system; plumbing and utilities; television, telephone, and Internet service providers; and any other contracted services.
The House Director will consult with Alumni Corporation Board
President or his designee prior to the repair if the repair is to exceed $250.
If the repair in question is an emergency and repairs are to exceed $250, the House Director will contact the Alumni Corporation Board President or his designee immediately following the repair.
2. Be responsible for supervising minor repairs and any contracted workers employed for such purposes.
3. Collaborate with House Manager to highlight safety and cleaning needs and to continually develop risk management procedures. Encourage proactive actions to reduce risks and make the Chapter a safer place for all members and guests.
4. Meet regularly with Kitchen Stewards to ensure maintenance and upkeep of kitchen.
5. Follow Alpha Mu emergency procedures, immediately report any damages, fire,or accidents to the Alumni Corporation Board and Chapter President, and recommend any maintenance needs to both the House Manager and Corporation Board.
6. Run fire drills each semester, participate in semester-end damage inspections at the request of the Corporation Board, and maintain inventories as needed.
7. Be available and provide assistance with any emergencies in the house.
8. Serve as custodian of room keys and master keys for rooms throughout the house.
9. Supervise the openings and closings of the Chapter house during school vacations.
Chapter Functions
1. Assist with recruitment events by helping with food preparation and meeting recruits when asked to do so.
2. Be present for the following events:
Dinner exchanges with sororities
Family Weekend
Homecoming
VEISHEA
Parent's Days
Cow Chip Bingo philanthropy
High School and ISU Greek Getaway recruitment events
Social recruitment events (barbeques, Super Bowl parties, etc.)
3. Encouraged to be present at all Chapter meetings, Standards Board hearings, and Executive Officer meetings. Unless an initiated member of Theta Chi Fraternity, the House Director is excluded from attending Ritual or Initiation events. The House Director is welcomed to submit announcements and updates
either in person or via email to the Secretary and/or President.

4. Be present at all Corporation Board and Advisory Board meetings.
Administrative and Budgeting
1. Plan the meals together with the Cook and Chapter Stewards.
2. Meet regularly with the Cook to determine menus, track expenses, and develop kitchen chores. While the House Director is not a supervisor to the Cook, the House Director can encourage the Cook to remain diligent in their duties and to
seek improvement in service delivery.
3. Work with Chapter Secretary to order all household supplies.
4. Keep and provide accurate records of steward and household expenditures, endeavor to stay within the budget, and turn over bills for payment to either Chapter treasurer or corporation president.
Chapter Relations
1. Serve as a main point of contact for parents, alumni, advisor, Greek Affairs, and Iowa State University. The House Director is encouraged to write letters to parents congratulating them on their sons accomplishments, provide
a monthly/semester newsletters/ updates, and stay current on University and Greek Community events.
2. Develop and foster relationships with recruits, members, alumni, and advisor.
3. Attend and participate with Iowa State University Coterie.
4. Assist the USPS and package delivery services with delivery of mail.
5. Work with the Cook to arrange for foodstuffs delivery and storage of surplus in the kitchen and storeroom.

Job description: Looking for cook to prepare dinner for 25-30 college students daily Sunday through Thursday. Dinner preparation will occur between approximately 2 PM and 6 PM, so meal can be served at 6 PM. Cook will be expected to provide assistance related to planning and presentation of
nutritional meals while working within budgetary constraints.
The meal to be prepared will normally consist of one entrée accompanied by a vegetable and starch, as well as a side salad and dessert. Preparation of the entrée will be from fresh ingredients, other components of the meal should
minimize the use of pre-cooked, processed, or frozen items. Cooking utensils and supplies will be provided.
Work Schedule: Employment begins the first week of each semester and ends on the last week. The Cook will not be required to work, nor will he/she receive compensation for school breaks when meals are not provided, e.g. Thanksgiving, spring break, the time between semesters and during the summer when school is
not in session.
Compensation:
*$300 paid weekly for 30 weeks per year (when school is in session)
